Update on the (somewhat) homemade windows. The boat upholstery shop that sewed the windows for $50 each did an okay sewing job. It was a bit rough. But I put the windows up and so far all is good. We’ll see how long the marine vinyl I bought online holds up. And if reusing the velcro and other parts off the old windows causes any issues. So far I’d say, no.
I will say I don’t remove the windows once in place, so not a lot of stress on the sewed velcro. I mostly open doors for venting. And on the very rare occasion - the . Though NEVER open the in the winter. That is asking for trouble, IMO. Frozen clumps of ice making reclosing difficult, torn parts, etc.
