Default Broken/damaged zipper

Our yurt is having zipper issues. It will partially zip and then separate leaving a gap then re-catch after about 5 inches and then continue zipping as usual. It's monsoon season here and that 5 inch gap lets in way more water than you'd think! I have tried all the tricks i know to fix zippers (straightening the teeth, lubing the zipper head thing, etc...) and i just can't figure it out! Plus, im 8.5 months pregnant and im really tired of dealing with it! Does anyone have experience fixing yurt zippers? The closest town to us is Flagstaff so if there is anyone near by who knows how to or knows someone who knows how to fix yurt zippers we would pay you to fix it asap!

Try gently squeezing the zipper pull with pliers. The idea is to close the gap (that the teeth slide into) very very slightly. That has worked for me a couple times.
