Open air yurt
Has anyone ever assembled a modern yurt package without the side walls? I am thinking of keeping the top cover and and having doors attached to the lattice walls but leaving off the side walls, so that the yurt essentially has open walls, perhaps covered with insect netting. I understand the side walls play a structural role in tying the top cover down to the foundation, so that would have to be overcome. Perhaps the top cover could be secured to the lattice wall? Or it could be connected to the foundation with straps?
