Default Storage inside yurts - any problems? Tricks? Mold issues?

Hello!

I've been enjoying reading around the threads in this category. This is my first post.

I'm from the UK and I've slept a couple summers out in a bell tent and found that everything stays pretty dry - that is apart from under the rugs that were layered over a PVC floor - I guess there's zero air circulation there! And underneath the blow up bed - plastic on plastic..
I'm moving into a yurt as a bedroom/living space (with bathroom/kitchen/compost loo elsewhere).

Someone said 'once you start putting things in drawers and closing things up eg. clothes in a cupboard - that's when you start to get problems.

I'm interested to hear more about this, I've been looking around all over the web today for advice and thoughts and haven't done a great job on finding out anything about storing mold/damp-vulnerable items in a yurt.

My concerns mostly are clothes, books, anything made with fabrics.

What are peoples experiences? What are the tips and tricks and 'need to knows' when keeping belongings inside the yurt healthy?

Well, it depends. If you are just building a yurt on the ground with no deck, you will get

moisture

. If you build a proper platform, you will not have that issue.

Another problem people have is that they over-insulate. Yurts (like all tents) need to breathe.
