Default Built for camping

I built a 4.5 meter Mongolian style Ger last year to use camping, especially at Glass Buttes, Oregon which is at elevation 4500 in the camping area. Each year at spring break, there is a knappin (where people get together to make arrowheads/stone tools) there. This time of year Glass Buttes can be cold. Our first day was below freezing, and the night down to 15 degrees F. I had bought the smallest stove (the Two Dog model) the Four dog Stove Company offers. A long story short, that wee stove nearly drove us outside until I got it damped down. Here are a couple of shots of the Ger.

Just looking at the little bit you can see of the stove, it does look like it is more than adequate. I see on their site that model weighs about 40lbs. Not bad.

Nice. What's the cover made from?

The outer cover is a 10 oz vinyl coated polyester canvas. It is very water proof, but not so breathable. There is a half inch layer of felt under with a white cotton liner under that. The wee wood stove was very capable of

heating

it to over 100 when it was 15 outside.

Good job. Door is particularly nice five panel Mongolian design. Mine is five as well and very similar. I painted it with the common Mongolian 'nomadic 3 stripe' line design on the face of all the stiles and rails. That design is representational of the ongoing nomadic life of herdsmen.

As its old post but after seeing the set-up I can't stop myself to post comment.
