Default Woodstove airintake outside of yurt ?

Depending on the weather, but i had sometimes that the stove draft wasn't good enough when starting up and it filled with smoke.
Despite having my air intake closed it still leaked out and filled the yurt with smoke.
I simply open my doors and

dome

and its fixed, but is was wandering would it be a good idea to extend the air intake from inside the yurt to the outside with a alu flex hose as than the stove gets allways fresh air mostlike will work better in my understanding.
Your thoughts please.

Yes exterior sourced combustion air for a fireplace or stove is a very good idea. I have that on our fireplace. It draws well. When you open the stove door to stoke it make sure the main pipe damper is wide open for maximum interior air draw. The venturi effect, like in an old school engine carburetor. Also, open the stove door slowly to get a good flow with minimal backdraft. ime.

I have an outdoor air kit for my wood stove, but that did not affect the draft in any way, which sounds more like the issue you are having. How tall is your chimney stack?

^^^ What Jafo said. Blockage, too many ells for start up draft. Check to make sure your damper is actually operating when you rotate the handle 90. Something might have gotten into the pipe and plugged it. I'd opt for a full cleanout.

My homemade spark arrestor had screen too small. It clogged up with soot. I started noticing something was up because the stove started puffing smoke when I went to add wood or poke the fire.

Without being there I have no more ideas. Good luck.

My stack is approx 3.5 to 4 mtrs, but what i discovered is that the kind of weather also playes part in the issues that sometimes happen.
I just received today my kit to get outside air in the stove so i have something to do the coming time and hopefully it will make a diffirence.
Thanks all again like allways for the help and info.

4 meters should probably be okay.
