I have lived in my yurt full time for about a year now and keep a lot of pretty sensitive audio recording equipment in there. (Preamps, A-D converters, condenser and ribbon mics, etc.) It does get very humid, and I do have fairly massive temperature swings, but I haven't had any issues with my equipment thus far. I'm also un-insulated and not on a platform, which adds to the humidity. I pack the gear up in Rubbermaid totes when not in use. Don't know much about the duct-less split your looking at, but if the equipment is your main concern I wouldn't sweat it.
