My first yurt, 16ft, rough.
|
This was my first yurt build. It was 16ft across.
Made of untreated pine, except for the tono, which was horrible old plywood and pine boxing.
It was a great first yurt project, quick and fun, and I made lots of mistakes along the way.
The final finished yurt wasn't great, but it was good enough for temporary living, and I did live in it for a month or two.
The canvas sides were from an old scout-tent, and the roof was just a tarp.
Mostly I used it at festivals, as a huge tent with heating for sub-zero conditions.
My second yurt build was much better, with the lessons I'd learned from this first attempt. |
