Yurt falling apart in harsh NM climate
2018, I bought a mountain property over an acre with a used 30-foot Pacific yurt. From all appearances, things were in decent shape, but it is built on a permanent foundation at a cliff's edge where it is very hot and windy or cold and windy. Snowfall can be heavy. All the zippers on the window flaps are now broken; the door has blown off twice, been repaired once, and is now irreparable. I moved to another home on the same road and would like to rent the yurt, but I need to figure out if it is even cost-effective to repair it. Do I have to use the same manufacturer, or can I use another company to replace all the covers, the cracked , and everything else? I am in an area where people have difficulty finding pet-friendly rentals, so I know I can rent this easily, at least in the warmer months. It was way too expensive to heat over the winter.
