Default Surely Stairs

Steve from

Surely Yurts

stopped up to camp a couple weeks ago and helped me build a new set of stairs over a couple cold ones a dinner that couldn't be beat. I figured I would show off some of the pics.

Great job! I frequently wish I had a small platform instead of simple steps like you started with. When I finally go that route, I'll probably make a little deck for two.

Jafo. I'm so glad you posted this. I have queen bunk beds and I've been thinking of building a little stairway/storage at the end for easier access to the top bunk. The ladder is okay, but a small stairway would be nice. Your pictures reminded me I don't have to use risers. I could cut side boards to fit the length and then just experiment what works best for stairs (number and vertical drop). As long as it's sturdy with a nice handrail. Will also probably start with a little platform at the top. Thanks!
