Smile Adding a Kitchen to Yurt

I bought a house that included a 30 foot yurt, no bathroom or kitchen. I am going to buy a compost potty. Unsure what to do about a kitchen. I think a microwave, small frig, and hotplat to start. I'm thinking I will rent it.
It has propane heat and a small wall mounted air/heater.

I think the person who owned the house used propane inside the yurt. I see the pipes for it. I do not want to do that.

Anyone out there have experience with these issues?

I have a kitchen at my yurt. Simple propane tankless water heater. I use propane for the range and the fridge. My yurt is completely off-grid with no other option but to be so. Propane is a lifesaver.

If you want to offer a more "professional look", you can use a portable suitcase kitchen.

Some ideas are here:

Or a more stable version:

Your yurt looks just like mine.
So you use propane inside the yurt? There is a pipe coming inside your yurt carrying propane to your frig and stove?

I am in USA. Where can I find something like that?

Look how simple the design is made. That is no problem for a carpenter to copy it.
Some stuff you can use for:
https://www.amazon.com/stores/page/56DE6968-C8E6-4780-AFC4-9A6713F68021?ingress=2&visitId=be39e535-7aa4-43ac-aade-8b8dbe37dc1b&store_ref=bl_ast_dp_brandLogo_sto&ref _=ast_bln

Or you can google "mobile kitchen in box" (or similar, with "kitcase" e.g. ....).

Some other possibilities I found with this search:

https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256806014617453.html

Or search on Amazon:

I won't comment on how to set up a kitchen in a rental yurt.

If you rent that yurt you better make sure your gas appliances meet safety code. Same for bathroom, electric, plumbing, compost toilet etc.

If you have a renter in your 'rental yurt', and there's a fail that can be tracked back to lack of permitting and/or code violation, it will be a life changing event, and not a good one. Renting is a VERY BIG deal nowadays. Think about that.

That said good luck

Yes, I have it piped in via copper. Definitely do your due diligence if you are going to be renting out your yurt. You will want all the safety bells and whistles.

For myself, I have shutoffs for each appliance, a main shutoff and of course a shutoff at the tank. You can't have too many IMO..

Good morning,
Thank-you for this information. The yurt was on the property when I bought the house. It has electricity. It is hooked up to the main house electrical panal. He also had gas piped in, but when I had someone look at the propane stove in the yurt, he said it was illegal to pipe in gas. For

heating

it is okay but not for a stove. I do not plan to install a stove that requires gas. I will have a hotplate, microwave, and a mini fridge. No inside bathroom or shower. I'm hoping I can get a compost toilet and shower outside the yurt.
