Wooden or Canvas?
We are hoping to buy and live in a yurt after we find some land. I was leaning more toward canvas, since it would happen sooner due to the lower cost (in theory). However now I'm second guessing how that would work out due to having to replace the canvas every x amount of years, etc.
We are interested in it being our forever home, possibly adding some extra yurts a few yrs down the road as our children get older.
Can anyone tell me a little more of the pros and cons to each? Does anyone intend to live in a canvas yurt indefinitely? If so, how are canvas and roof replacements managed when you have, say a lot built into the yurt (ie the inside being exposed)? I'm imagining perhaps it's a one day job, but I really don't know much about what living in a canvas yurt long term entails.
Thanks!
