A few months back my wife and I started looking for a yurt to build on our land in Vermont. We looked at the usual big companies, and found some smaller companies we liked...but really wanted to buy locally. Thanks to yurt forums we came upon
in upstate NY. I can’t imagine a better experience that what we’ve had.
Steve answered all of our questions, then visited the site. We settled on a 16’ triad design w tall walls and French doors, as well as an entrance cover. After picking our colors Steve got to work. We had intended to order a kit and build it ourselves, but Steve offers full service - from platform to finished yurt - and we trusted him to do it faster and better than we could.
The finished product is absolutely gorgeous. The lattice is tulip poplar, the beams are larch, and the entrance is oak. All the wood was sourced locally and milled by Steve. He also does his own metal work and cuts/sews the canvas.
Steve and his crew were a joy to work with. I feel like we have a piece of beautiful, functional, hand crafted art that happens to be a yurt. Amazing.
