. Thanks!
Allyn, I know Steve from Surely Yurts. Back then he lived only about 20 minutes away from me. IIRC at the time I referred a few people to him who were shopping locally for a yurt and being the stand-up person that he is, he wanted to compensate me in some way. I didn't really think it was necessary but he insisted. So in the end I just asked if he could give me a good deal on a small yurt that I could use as a bath house. It also made for a good blog post.

Steve's yurt is still holding up strong. It houses a bath tub and shower at my yurt camp. He now lives in Vermont somewhere, still building custom yurts for clients and still busier than ever.

My Pacific Yurt still looks brand new to me, especially after I wash the exterior every year. I can't speak their praises high enough. I know Steve generally feels the same way. They put out a great product.

I guess I am lucky to have gotten to interact with two great entities in the Yurtiverse. Pacific Yurts with their solid, time-tested product and Steve with his strong yurts with a local Adirondack flair. Each have their own benefits.

For Surely Yurts, at the time it was all built locally to me and you can save a LOT of money that way, not having to ship everything from the west coast, especially if you can find someone who builds quality.

For Pacific Yurts, the super high quality engineered yurt, with architectural plans, time-tested snow and wind kit and the many accessories they have brought to market of the years really presents a high end product at the end. It is a polished yurt that IMO has no equal when it comes to design.

So, I hope that answers your question.
