Default Cost of bringing a yurt to canada from united states

We live on vancouver island, . We are fairly close to seattle and like

Rainier yurts

. Just wondering if anyone has brought a yurt across the border and what the problems and duty might be. We have given up trying to find a used one. They seem to be few and far between here in canada. I am looking at a 24 ft for an Art Studio/workshop space.

I am going tag this post with a couple manufacturers. Some of them subscribe to be notified when they are tagged (and many do not). Perhaps someone in the industry has some experience with shipping to Canada.

We have lots of customers in BC and ship there regularly as well as have some pick up their yurt here at our facility in Oregon. Email your questions directly to our shipping clerk Scottyurts.com. He can give you some guidance.

I have been going back and forth between pacific and Rainier trying to make it worthwhile to make the trip from canada. Was ready to buy from rainier when we found out that we also have to pay washington state tax as well as 12 %.Canadian tax It would be a whopping almost 2000.00 on top of the purchase price. The price of a yurt from a canadian company is at least 3000.00 more than an american company then 12 % on top of that.. It feels like my dream of a yurt art studio keeps getting further and further away. I keep seeing adds for great used yurts but they are all in the states far far away from us. If I could find one a little closer we could fly down and rent a truck to bring it home. I am not sure if we would have to pay tax on a used one. I guess I just have to keep looking. Thanks for listening, just needed to vent my frustration.

Pacific Yurts

just announced a 5% off sale on all new orders. I don't know if this offsets any of the costs you mentioned. I think at most it could save you around $900:
