Default yurt roof cover

I am in the UK and have built a few yurts for myself over the years.
I have always bought huge bits of marquee canvas and just used two semi circles for the roof, is this ok or are there drawbacks to this way of making the roof. I can't think of any problems I have had but interested to know if others have used this method.

HI Ross I invited Hal Wynn Jones here 2 years ago I wanted extra accommodation for my retreat I created plus saw it as a business opportunity. I trained a Swedish guy he went back to Sweden to set up his own business. So I shelved the idea until this summer when I had a few enquiries for sales.
So I'm open.
I need someone who can just get on with the job. I have set up all the equipment at the corner of my land.
So 3 suggested options.
1. Business partner small investment to be agreed.
2. Workaway free accommodation food.

3. Payment on completion agreed amount when sold. 5 metre we sell for £4000 without base.
The location is near fethiye at Tlos 30 no It's a from.beach public transport from.the door.
There are many activities here paragliding , scuba diving, windsurfing, trekking, boat trips, deep sea fishing and much more. This is a holiday destination we are in the foothills of the mountains.
Let me know if appeals or if you have any questions

Jengiscan2000: Would you please explain what you mean by "marquee canvas"? A Web search suggests that "marquee" signifies a tent type, not a material...?

Marquee might be a decorative checkered pattern in the roof maybe?

Hey Bulldog . It is exactly that , canvas from a marquee.
In the UK a lot of the Marquee hire companies renew the canvas every few seasons and you can get huge sheets of good quality canvas at a good price. Saves on a lot of stitching.
I have always used just two semi circular pieces to make the roof with.
Hope that answers your question.

IMHO depends that too on a lighter quality of canvas they are using on their Marquees. As I know is the canvas of military Marquees heavier and more resistant.
