Default Weatherstripping on Yurt Side Walls

When you are pretty much done with constructing your yurt, you screw the bottom of the side walls to the skirt of the deck.

said that some people use weatherstripping around the edge under the side walls inline with the grommet holes. Once, you screw the side wall to the skirt, it makes it a tight seal all the way around. This seemed logical to me and since it only cost about an extra $20.00 to buy from the local hardware store, I went ahead and did it:

What is really nice about this is when you need to run wiring (or anything else) outside. For example, we have the solar panels outside and had to run the wiring indoor to power everything inside the yurt. Instead of drilling holes in the floor, you can just run it between the weatherstripping and the skirt.

I highly recommend using the weatherstripping. I know at the end of the project you just want it to be done, but this simple step has made our yurt much more snug!
