I think the lofts are great! But i just don't see myself climbing a ladder to got to bed at night. Perhaps when I was 12 yr old but not now. I may do one later for guests but don't plan on it right now.

The simplicity of a hunting yurt is great. I think you will be surprised how quickly the creature comforts will creep in.

Yes, a few already have.. I have many songs on my cell phone and they play through my bluetooth receiver into the stereo we have setup there lol.. I try to keep the technology down to a minimum though.. I work in IT day in and day out, so it is kind of nice to get away from all that for a while.

I have been thinking about a small fridge and microwave though, to be honest.

Oh, I wasn't thinking about high tech how about a stove to bake frozen pizza for the kids. A frig/freezer for the pizza. How about an inside hot shower?

I hear ya! The shower is a big deal for me but is a project that will have to wait until next year. Right now I just go in the river and take a bath right in there. You can kind of see the river here:

Next year I have some plans that should make it all possible.

That solution will be problematic in the winter though when it is below zero and the river is frozen over.

The property and the river are absolutely beautiful! You are so lucky to get it. How far do you have travel to get in?

I picked up a portable propane water heater. I will need to put in a grey water drain that will go into the garden. Will need to get a big propane tank installed.

It is only about 20-25 minutes from my home. There is a small private dirt road that runs through it. It is about a mile into the woods.

I was looking at some of those portable water heaters too. I will just be letting the water drain out on the ground. The deer would not allow a garden up there lol.. Since the shower would only be used a couple days a month I figure that would work.

Yup the critters are going to be a problem.

I picked up three 4 ft wide copper tinted, sliding glass doors to frame up together for a picture window in the yurt wall. I can't have the view go to waste!
