Default Stick-built yurts/round houses in Vermont?

Hello all,

My wife and I want to build a stick-built yurt/round house in North-Central Vermont (Montpelier area). We are thinking of using a Smiling Woods kit, but are also open to a custom build.

We're trying to find builders in the area who have done either kits or custom builds, as well as anyone who's gone through the process and wouldn't mind telling us about their experience.

Is there anyone out there in the VT-NH area? We'd love to hear from you!

Thank you!

We did a custom build of a 20' yurt and platform w/ rainwater catchment for a couple in Orange, VT (near Barre). I could put you in touch with the owners (they have lived in it full-time for the past 3 years). e. [email protected]

We're in Central VT too and considering this type of frame (stick-built). Ideally we'd be building a 24' yurt. Have you gained any insight into how such a structure would hold up here?

For an actual stick built yurt home you may want to have a look at our new design - it's built like a house and passes code to spec. We are also working on a hybrid version with a fabric shell but are aiming to finish off this one first. Check out our facebook page! Link should show up as our home page here if you aren't on it. Email or give us a call. Thanks! Nate

Well, wait a week until I get back in the country please. ;-) Btw,

insulation

packages on ours can go to R-62 in the roof, where it counts. Peace. Nate

on their yurt???? If so, who did you find it through?

I am in NY and got it through Midrox, who also serves Vermont I believe.
