tents I am familiar with are self supporting. While they normally are staked down, cordage loops could be added at the corners and a concrete block or large rock set on the loop.
If you don't have the tools, and are inexperienced at building structures, just be aware you'll be spending WAY more money and time on that 8-9' yurt than you can imagine. Not trying to dissuade you but just saying it's worth some real consideration.
At least you aren't one of the guys here that's said (paraphrasing), "Yep. Gonna build me a fifty foot yurt. Can you tell me how to do it? But first off I gotta build me a bridge across the 30' wide canyon to get my tractor access to the site. Say... can you help me engineer the bridge?" lol
