Re: Sealing doors and windows
I'll assume your door is mounted to a standard door jamb consisting of a head jamb, two side jambs and a threshold. In other words, one integral frame. Add a 1/2" thick door stop on the head jamb, side jambs, and the threshold of your door frame, for the door to close against.
Close the door. Place the latch side stop into the position you want the door to close against, mark, and tack in place. Try the door to make sure it is where you want it. When satisfied, follow around with stop on the other three sides.
Weatherstrip the stop with plastic 'vee' weatherstrip from Depot or Lowes. It comes flat, and is bendable into a 'vee' shape, and has a sticky back. You cut to length, fold it into a vee shape, pull the protective cover off the sticky back, and apply it to the stop. Voila. No leaks.
