Default Roof beams help help

Hey guys, I'm building my second 12' yurt from scratch and I'm having trouble getting my roof beams straight. I had this problem with the first one but I don't remember how I overcame it (that was over a year ago and there was alcohol involved.) Basically, my problem is that the roof beams are bending like boomerangs to fit into the kana. I tried twisting the tono to make it line up straight but it wouldn't budge. I'm racking my brain to figure out what I did last time.

Anyone else have this issue? Any tips or suggestions? I've just gotten the frame set up. There's no canvas yet. Please help thank you.

Have you tried elevating the roof ring?

Thanks! I'll try elevating it when I tighten the cable.

I've been a carpenter for 43 years. One thing I have found in all those years of working with wood is, if the roof beams aren't straight to begin with, they are probably gay, and a real PITA to deal with. No matter how hard I've tried, I have never been able to straighten a gay beam. Gay beams stay gay, even when sistered to straight ones. Once gay, always gay.

BTW if you used 1x3s for your 12' yurt roof, they are called rafters. Poles are European. Not that there is anything wrong with that. lol
