Thanks, Bob. We had some more progress today. Filled the remaining hole in the floor support and layed most of the insulation - only couple edge pieces left (those were skipped due to the circular shape of the floor of course), they'll be filled as we trim the edges and use leftovers for that.
I didn't take picture of today's finished work, as it was already getting dark when we ended. So just two quick pics from the process. Sorry for the continuous low quality of photos, still no time to solve out my internet connection here, so I resize pics to get them through the slow mobile modem. Once I'm back to fast connection, I'll upload the pics in full quality.
My wife was laying the insulation boards while I worked on the support layer.
My axe in action. Just getting rid of some bark remains on the plank edges. Love this antique axe, so thin and lightweight and great edge retention!
