How do i protect this beautiful yurt?

Hi everyone,
This is going to be a bit of a strange post because i may be missing a lot of details.
But here goes.
I rent a house on a property and use a part of the acreage.
The landlord does not live here but sometimes does projects.
Recently he got an authentic yurt imported from Kurdistan.
A team came yesterday and put it up, and then everyone left.
For complicated reasons it might possibly be left to me to figure out how to maintain it.

My question is about upkeep.
Don't yurts need to go onto a base?
This one was built directly onto the clay soil and that's it.
Also does it need a rain cover?
Will it get ruined in winter when it rains?

currently the material covering the wood is felt with beautiful handmade decorations.
What exactly is needed to protect this beautiful yurt?
we have a rainy season in winter. no snow. very hot and windy summers

Bathtub floor. Roll out a poly tarp inside the yurt that's a couple feet wider than the yurt. Hike up the wall lath section by section and work/slide the tarp under the lath.

Hike up the wall cover, and fold the tarp up the OUTSIDE of the lath. Trap the tarp between the lath and the cover and secure with low tension band. Water and bugs will stay out and the bottom of the lath will sit protected from ground

You can cut additional poly tarp scraps to fit under the lath on the ground, for a double layer of protection. Or whatever you can scrounge up.
