Encasing Yurt in Rodent Mesh

Hello,

I’m planning a yurt that will use wool felt

insulation

, and am very concerned about mice nesting it in. In addition to sealing the bottom of the cover to the platform with a ratchet strap, I am considering wrapping the entire yurt in a layer of stainless steel rodent mesh, above the felt, below the house wrap and outer cover (breathable Sunbrella). Something like this:



Because the steel mesh would be cold much of the year, would this significantly worsen condensation by causing water to condense below the house wrap? It seems like placing the mesh above would abrade/perforate the wrap.

The yurt will either be in northeast Washington or northern California.
