Default Degrees/angle of the roof

Hi there.
Im building a 40 feet Yurt. Just found out that the timber i have i the forrest ready for the sawmill is to short for a 30 degree angle on the roof. I live in Northern scandinavia.... with only a 15 - 20 cm snow load in the winter . My question is if its ok to make the roof at a 20 degree angle ? Kind regards Claus

If your Yurt is permanently heated during the snowfall period, I see no problem. IMHO!!!!

On 30° roof, the snow slides better down, but with

heating

it should melt - even with a roof

insulation

, isn't it, @Pacific Yurts ?
