Default Cover for Tono

I’m getting a Mongolian yurt next week. The tono does not come with a

dome

covering. I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations on how to cover the tono from the elements but also let sunlight in. I live in Texas and not looking forward to dark interior but also don’t want to be rained on (if we ever get rain).

I would have such a part made bespoke by a tarpaulin maker.

Clear PVC like the windows of caravan awnings - with eyelets for attaching cords so you can remove the protection at any time (e.g. for cleaning).
However, this system only works in this simple variant, if you do not run a stovepipe through the

center ring

.

Things get a bit tricky with a chimney.....

There are plastic tono covers with a clear insert in the middle to let light in and keep water out. Let us know if you would like more information.
