Default Building in New Zealand, Anyone have their kitchen inside?!

Hello!
First time poster here,
We're looking to buy a 9m+ yurt to live in permanently in the Coromandel area of New Zealand, I've been looking at some local yurt building sites and reading their given information on the consent process and they suggesting having the Kitchen and Bathroom outside, we were already planning a separate building for the laundry/bathroom/toilet but we wanted the kitchen inside the yurt, we would love to buy a great big Homewood stove to cook on/heat the yurt/heat our water in winter so having the kitchen inside was kinda the point 😬
Would love to hear if anyone has their kitchen inside or has any clever ways to get around this?
Could we possibly just put the Homewood in as "heating" (even though it is sold as a cooking stove?)

I have a gas range and also a wood stove. The idea of having a homewood stove sounds good, but from the people I have spoken to, it doesn't work well in practice simply because who wants to fire up their wood stove in the summer?

I cook a lot on the wood stove in the winter time, but still use the gas range a lot. I use the range exclusively in the summer.

I've cooked on an old electric/woodstove. Electric warm weather and wood cold weather. Works great you are covered all year. I dont know if these are still available. No comment about permits, kitchen location etc.
