Default Building a Yurt in Southwestern Ontario (Up to Ontario Building Code)

Hello,

I am looking to build a yurt as a primary residence in South Western Ontario (Chatham-Kent). I'm looking for advice on how to do this legally so it will conform to Ontario Building Code. I know the

insulation

will likely be an issue. Has anyone else build or looked into a building a Yurt as a full time residence and if so what happened, do you have any advice? Thank you!

Talk your 'yurt plan as a permanent residence' with the regional building department, since you will be dealing with them. They should be able to give preliminary info on the procedure in their area. In addition, pick a yurt manufacturer and discuss this with them. Good luck.
