Building a yurt in Idaho

Hey guys

Been looking at yurts for a while, but finally ready to build one(once we find the right piece of land) as a 4 season home.

A few questions /concerns

1. Are there yurts made of natural materials? How do those hold up?

The reason I ask is because polyester and vinyl def has some forever chemicals in it, especially if they are using flame retardant.

2. What is your favorite company for

yurt kits

and why? (We are looking for a 30+ ft)

3. If you built your own with platforms how much were you all in?

4. Does anyone have an earthen floor on it? Is that possible to put on a platform? Or is it mostly wood?

Yes, many but I don't know of any that make a 30' one off hand. Expect to change out the fabric every 5 years or so.

but I am impartial as I own one and it was my first.

3. If you built your own with platforms how much were you all in?

I think mine as about $7k IIRC.

Can't remember the exact costs it was in 2013. I scratch built my 16' rustic yurt and low, 8" above ground platform, for ~ $1200. ~ Two weeks labor. This was about a decade ago.
