When I made a the last lathe wall they just bent because the lathe is thin. No steam needed, maybe its the moist Iowa weather tho,lol

If you push each lathe to a right angle, then go around to the door on each side, along circle drawn out on the ground to the size you want your yurt. Also helps to watch lots of utube vids.

BL, I used that Kaminari plan to build my 14' and 16' yurts. Anyone that wants a fast track to building a small yurt with simple carpentry tools should read that plan. It is superb camping/nomadic yurt.
