New yurt, mold issue
We have been living in our 16ft yurt for a month now and already seeing dusty mold spots on the interior fabric right above the drip edge.
Most pictures I’ve seen of yurts have the exterior fabric stopping at the bottom of the outside of the drip edge and attached with grommets. Our exterior fabric wraps around the bottom of the drip edge and is attached on the underside. I’m guessing what’s happening is condensation is running down between the insulation walls and exterior fabric and pooling at the bottom of the drip edge, with no where to go. I’m trying to figure out how to remedy this. Has anyone had this issue before? |

Some pics would be helpful.... ;)
Where did you buy your Yurt? |
Re: New yurt, mold issue
I would not have the fabric wrapping around the bottom, it should hang straight off the edge.

Re: New yurt, mold issue
Water definitely needs to sheet off the yurt wall cover. Regardless of source, water should not be allowed to pool anywhere on the yurt, in the yurt, or under the yurt. The drier the better.
Good luck. |
