acrylic dome
can someone please tell me the diameter of the acrylic dome on a pacific yurt? I cant seem to find it on their website or brochure, thanks!
|
I moved this to the "Building a Yurt" forum. You should know that Pacific Yurts is having a parts sale and I believe it is until the end of December. You might want to contact them directly on their website, or you can contact their rep here.
I would caution that they will probably respond faster from their site than here because they are just like any other users here, they come and go as they want to. :) Good luck in your hunt! |
thanks, I was trying to move it after I realized it was in the wrong forum but couldnt figure out how to do it! My problem is that Im not sure I have a pacific yurt and they wont sell me a dome if its not, and I know the rainier dome and the colorado domes are too large, Im trying to be stealthy

Well, can you post some pictures of the parts? We should be able to tell you if we see the both ends of the rafters and the center ring.

well right now its eight hrs away and the folks living in it have a tarp over the top, Ill dig through my pictures and see what Ive got

Well I can tell you that I doubt it is a PY yurt, because they explicitly state to not put the chimney through the roof or it will void the warranty of it.
I believe Colorado yurts will sell you any part you wish, regardless of what you have. Hope that helps! |
I know the wood part at the top of the yurt that the dome attaches to is two octagons or dodecagons offset, attached together. The opening in the wood is roughly 34 inches wide. The acrylic dome attaches with two or three metal springs and a cotter pin attached to a small metal box that operates a crank arm that raises and lowers the dome. I think the dome is about 40-48 inches wide. It blew off in the storm yesterday and the folks living in it say they have not found all of the pieces. There is not a name visible anywhere on the yurt.
