Default Wood stove for Maine conditions

We have a 20' diameter yurt that is insulated. We are on the northern coast of Maine where temps can dip to -20F. I have read that for a yurt this size, to get a wood burning stove that is meant for 1000 sq feet. But I have a feeling that 1000 sq foot stove recommendation is for more temperate climates? I'm looking for recommendations on stove size for this type of climate.
Thanks!!

Check with your yurt and stove manufacturers. Jafo knows something about this maybe he will comment.

My biggest yurt was 16'. Cheap canvas cover, rustic and very drafty.

My little 1.6 cu.ft. airtight 'Sierra Cricket' fireplace insert woodstove would not effectively heat my 16' rustic camping yurt at zero let alone -20f. It would just barely heat it to a comfort level at freezing. Draft and porous canvas cover let the heat out fast.

Good luck.
