The second yurt I made. Bigger, better designed, better built, more robust, more liveable.Rough guide to my costs.. about $1500, maybe $2000. Wood = $350. Bolts, screws, glue = $70. Cover = $500. Insulation = $200. Ropes and cordage = $150. Log fire = $35. Skylight = $90. Other things I've forgotten = $???. My own labor was by far the biggest outlay. The financial cost was almost insignificant compared to how many hours it took to build. I can well understand why professional yurt companies charge so much!
