Hi,No yurt yet, but am searching suppliers as well as used options, it seems that new yurts are coming in a few thousand more than I anticipated.. Seems silly that insulation is an option? .I have the land in New Hampshire (Middle) on the side of a mountain.. We will start setting footings in the next week, and if we are not ready then we will not purchase/install till the following year. I am retired but my experience is in construction , but more industrial, although I have built a couple of houses from scratch to finish. I have seen and have been told that the need for 4' footings for this type of structure is way over rated? I know it is the safe path, however with the sub surface peppered with basket ball to VW size boulders it appears not feasible .. The locations is only accessible via ATV or by foot, so not heavy equipment access. So, I would love to get feed back fro folks that have used the the HD or Lowes platform pedestal for their yurts and how they have performed through out the winter/spring season.
