Default Building yurt ideas and dome problems

Hi,
We just finished putting up our Yurt this past week, and wanted to add a few suggestions. The directions were not the most helpful, especially regarding installing rafters. We found it easier to just number the brackets on the top of the compression ring, and number every other space on the child gate wall, also leaving a few extra spaces out as it is not an even match between the 2 . As long as the extra spaces are opposed from each other, it will be okay. Then it is just a matter of installing rafter to the corresponding number, as long as you install opposite? like install 1, then 17, then 8, then 25, etc,
I am looking for any ideas regarding the

dome

, as it seems that the hinge is just a flap of material? The fit up between the

dome

, roof material and wooden compression ring seem pretty poor as well. I do have some ideas , but if someone has a suggestion I would love to hear it.

Ivan
