Description
2024 20’ Secret Creek Yurt – $12,500.00
The Idaho Stitched Yarn Yurt is for sale!
This is a Secret Creek (Colorado Yurts) 20’ Tall Wall. The lattice, traditional wooden door, and wall fabric were re-purposed from a 30’ yurt (hence the folds in the fabric). The insulated floor structure, ring, rafters, dome, and Duralast roof are all NEW (April 2024).
The Yarn Yurt, constructed by Caribou Adventures, (Caribou Yurt) served a vital role for one year as office, shop, showroom, and classroom for Idaho Stitched. Now Idaho Stitched is moving and Shalea can’t take the yurt with her!

Other Considerations
Wall – The original wall came from a 30’ yurt that was crushed by snow during the 2022/2023 winter. It works for this 20’ yurt by folding some sections but it’s not ideal. We recommend taking this 30’ wall to get resized by a canvas shop, or replacing the wall with a new one from Secret Creek. This will be a standard “Tall Wall” with the standard door. The new owner would have their choice of color(s), and window locations. As an option, the new wall can be ordered with no windows and solid, residential style, vinyl windows with wood frames installed.
Foundation for slopes or high wind and heavy snow – Currently the Yarn Yurt sits on cement blocks on a relatively flat area with little wind. More substantial foundations often utilize poured concrete piers or pads with straps securing the yurt to the foundation to withstand high winds. If the new location is sloped, additional framing will be required to create a proper base. In situations of high snowfall, when the yurt may not be frequently used (snow cleared off or interior heating, allowing the snow to slide off the roof), vertical snow supports may be added under each rafter.
Details about moving the yurt
The yurt will be ready to move any time after mid-April (snow melted). We put it together planning for it to be moved so everything is screwed or bolted – no glue. With 3 or 4 people and basic tools, the yurt can be dismantled and loaded in a day. The liner is stapled and difficult to remove intact but easily replaced by ordering painters drop cloth canvas. The entire structure fits on a 16’ trailer and can be pulled with a pickup or larger SUV. The advertised cost is for the entire yurt, including all the items listed above, with the yurt standing as-is. We figure the new owners will want to see it finished and see how it comes apart for moving.
Depending on destination and timing, we will likely be able to help with any of the dismantling, loading, transporting, unloading, site preparation, and re-erecting the entire yurt at your new location. There are many variables and options so we will just need to discuss with you what this may look like for timing and cost.
